Adaptive Re-use of a Former Library into Office Space.
The project strikes a balance between preserving the building’s rich heritage and converting the space into office space for the developer. The iconic structure, designed in 1912 by renowned architect Albert Pissis, will be meticulously renovated while seamlessly integrating two new additions.
Preserving the Past, Embracing the Future:
The project prioritizes the preservation of the library’s historic character. Decorative elements like the central stairway, interior ceiling coffers, and salvaged bookshelf wood will be retained, ensuring a connection to the building’s past.
The company principle of Architecture-Studio is the collective conception. From the very beginning, the practice has believed in the virtues of exchange, crossing ideas, common effort, shared knowledge and enthusiasm.
